HOUSTON – Kitchen 713 is one of 21 restaurants taking part in Houston Black Restaurant Week. It starts Monday and continues through next week.
Houston Black Restaurant Week is an opportunity for African-American owned restaurants that might not be included in Houston Restaurant Week, to be showcased and supported, organizers said.
Just like HRW, Black Restaurant Week allows diners to purchase a complete meal at a discounted price with a portion of the money going to charity. The beneficiary of HBRW is Blue Triangle Community Center.

Kitchen 713 was granted its liquor license on Jan. 19 2017 and will start serving wine and signature cocktails beginning Jan. 20 2017.
Starting Jan. 20 2017 our BYOB accommodation will also come to an end. We regret the inconvenience this may cause to some of our patrons, but we are sure we will make it up with our wine, beer and cocktail selections. We will make every effort to post our alcoholic beverages menu to our website as soon as possible.
"December and January are typically a slow time for restaurant openings, but, the imminent arrival of Super Bowl LI means the white hot fall opening season has extended into the beginning of winter. While a number of eagerly anticipated restaurants...have yet to make their debuts, a number of intriguing new restaurants have appeared on the scene."
"After earning wide acclaim at its original location in the Second Ward, Kitchen 713 has relocated to a much larger space on Washington Avenue. In addition to being more stylish, the new location brings a switch to table service, an expanded menu, and, most importantly, the opportunity to serve alcohol (as soon as it receives final approval from the TABC [Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission])."
